communi-tree:
EDUCATIONAL Dance & Nature PROGRAMS

Offered by Jody Sperling/Time Lapse Dance in partnership with The New York Society for Ethical Culture

Communi-tree is an educational dance performance and demonstration field day program offering a creative experience of nature for children of all grades. The Time Lapse Dance ensemble, directed by choreographer Jody Sperling, is renowned for creating visually-stunning and accessible works exploring ecological themes. The program features highlights from Arbor, a dance cultivating kinship between trees and people, and Plastic Harvest, a romp about plastic pollution that provokes conversations about what—and who—society throws away. Sperling offers enlightening commentary between pieces. The hour-long program concludes with an embodied movement experience for the children and a Q&A.

If you are an educator and would like to bring a Communi-tree workshop into your classroom around field-day events to deepen the student experience, please contact us for more information.

This program is being developed as part ofJody Sperling’s ongoing Eco-Artist Residency at  the New York Society for Ethical Culture.
