Jody Sperling is honored to join Dr. Jeanne Bresciani and Livia Vanaver in a tribute to three muses of modern dance: Loie Fuller (1862-1928), Isadora Duncan (1877-1927) and Ruth St. Denis (1879-1968). For this auspicious occasion, Sperling offers her Fuller-inspired
Dance of the Elements and
Clair de lune. Bresciani, Director of
The Isadora Duncan International Institute and a world-renowned performer, teacher, reconstructor and choreographer, will perform a varied selection from the Dunan repertory. And Vanaver, the Director of
Vanaver Caravan and an extraordinary force in world dance and education, will direct performances of three St. Denis solos.
This remarkable program is presented by Moving Voices, The Isadora Duncan Cultural Exchange in South Boston, Virginia. It is part of a year-long statewide initiative "Minds Wide Open: Virginia Celebrates Women In The Arts."
